Job Type: Full-Time Benefited Location: Administrative Center, Plymouth, Minnesota Description To establish and implement an overall fundraising and development plan for the Park District by overseeing existing programs, developing new programs and partnerships, and building relationships with new and existing donors.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Directs, oversees, and manages existing Park District fundraising/donor programs.
- Develops and implements a comprehensive annual and long-range development plan in collaboration with the Park District and Foundation.
- Develops and understands Park District fundraising plans and priorities.
- Develops and monitors expense and revenue budget for assigned programs.
- Keeps donor information current in database as it pertains to actions, notes, etc.
- Identifies, cultivates, solicits, and stewards individual, corporate, foundation, and government agency prospects with an emphasis on acquiring major gifts and grants.
- Develops and implements a strategy, including proposal and budget development, for soliciting a range of prospects and donors to the Park District.
- Facilitates and manages relationships between major donors and the Park District.
- Updates and utilizes knowledge of traditional and emerging giving methods such as deferred giving, non-cash gifts, and tax implications.
- Collaborates with Park District Foundation activities.
- Provides donor research, identifies prospects, and explores new sources of revenue for the Foundation.
- Develops relationships with the business/corporate community and individual donors to include conducting face-to-face solicitations as necessary.
- Works closely with Park District Foundation to position the Park District strategically with prospective donors.
- Plans and coordinates special benefit events and solicitation drives.
- Develops and maintains a thorough working knowledge of the Park District and its programs, effectively communicating its vision, mission, and priorities to prospects and donors.
- Collaborates with staff to create effective fundraising programs.
- Develops and writes appeal letters, acknowledgement letters, and other materials as necessary.
- Performs other related duties as apparent or assigned.
Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Public Administration or related field required; master's degree preferred and five years of successful experience securing major gifts with evidence of an enterprising approach to fundraising and development relevant to this market, public sector preferred.

Applications will first be evaluated to determine if the applicant meets the minimum job qualifications. A top group of qualified applicants, based on the information provided in the Application and Resume, will be invited to an interview and written exam process. Weighted values of each portion of the selection procedure are:
Application Review: Qualify Interview: 100 percent Written Exam: Pass/Fail
A score of 70 percent or better on the interview and a score of "Pass" on the written exam is necessary to be certified to an eligibility list from which appointments may be made. Veterans Preference will be applied in accordance with Minnesota law. Final appointment is contingent upon the applicant passing a background investigation including a criminal history search. Costs of the background will be paid for by Three Rivers Park District.
