- 2012 MNA Conference Call for Presentations ~ Extended Deadline August 30th
Minnesota Naturalists' Association (MNA)
The Minnesota Naturalists' Association (MNA) is a non-profit organization of about 120 local professional environmental educators, park rangers, naturalists and interpreters. MNA exists to advance natural and cultural resource interpretation for the purpose of fostering wise stewardship of all resources.
Each year MNA hosts an annual conference attended by 100-150 professionals and volunteers from across the region. This year's conference theme is The Dirt on Nature, what's happening beneath our feet. It will be held at Deep Portage Learning Center in Hackensack, Minnesota on November 9-11, 2012.
We are recruiting potential presenters to lead concurrent sessions, activities, development and networking opportunities, workshops and more. Presentation submission topics are sought for the following strands:
- Natural History & Research
- Teaching & Interpretation
- Parks & Facilities
- Leadership and Administrative Skill Building
- Hot Topics
- Careers and Young Professionals
- and more!
Check out the two presentation options:
Present as a concurrent session presenter on a topic of your choosing (topic ideas are below, other ideas welcome!) Sessions are typically 60 minutes in length. Application is attached. Your ideas are welcome!
Present at our NEW Naturalist Expo! GREAT for presentation topics that would not need as much time as a typical conference presentation and should be more experiential and hands-on. Presenters would do their 30 minute question and answer-style presentation three times during the expo.
