- Park Aide II: Weekend Janitor/Gardener
Tamarack Nature Center
White Bear Township, MN
Salary range: Pay rate $11.11-$11.52
Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include cleaning and maintaining public buildings (Nature Center and Garden House) and surrounding areas (picnic shelters, Discovery Hollow and Garden, etc.), engaging visitors, set-up/take-down tables and chairs for rentals, making safety/security checks and performing related duties as assigned. 50% o this position is outdoor work. Garden work involves weeding, planting, watering, mulching, etc.
Work Environment:
Janitorial duties are performed indoors and involve the use of cleaning supplies and disinfectants. Outdoor duties involve exposure to seasonal weather. Indoor and outdoor work involves continual walking, standing, stooping and bending.
Minimum Qualifications:
Ideal candidate will have knowledge of janitorial procedures, the ability to read and write English, ability to follow instructions, ability to lift and carry objects up to 50 lbs, ability to react promptly in emergency situations, ability to respond to questions from the public.
Season and Time Commitment:
The hours for this position are every Saturday 8:30 am-5:30pm and every Sunday 11:30am-5:30pm from mid-July to mid-October. The position is available immediately and is open until filled.
