- With scintillating speakers, winning workshops, fabulous field experiences, and so much more, the 2012 conference promises to be one of North American Association for Environmental Education's (NAAEE) most exciting!
The 41st Annual North American Association for Environmental Education (NAAEE) conference will be held October 9- 13, 2012 in Oakland, California. This year's conference theme is Gaining Perspective: Seeing EE Through Different Lenses
From taking part in provocative symposia to attending a private screening of Chimpanzee, the newest movie from Disneynature, to enjoying workshops and field trips that explore the natural beauty and cultural diversity of the Bay Area, you'll have a chance to learn, share, and network with some of the best and brightest in the field. NAAEE is all about promoting leadership, innovation, and excellence in environmental education - and this conference is your chance to experience what the field has to offer and to help support and grow it.
We're expecting more than a thousand environmental education professionals, representing universities, government agencies, non-profit organizations, schools, service-learning programs, businesses and corporations, and the arts. Sessions will focus on the link between education and conservation, new thinking in climate change, the food and environment connection, green schools, community well-being, environmental justice, leadership and capacity building, and so much more.
The Exhibit Fair is a hub for many conference activities, including the popular Authors' Corner and the even more popular Affiliates dessert buffet! Friday will feature a special screening of DisneyNature's extraordinary new film, Chimpanzee, along with both our silent and the live auction.
