-
The Minnesota Naturalists' Association (MNA) is a non-profit organization of professional environmental educators, park rangers, naturalists, interpreters and volunteers throughout the state of Minnesota and beyond. MNA exists to advance natural and cultural resource interpretation for the purpose of fostering wise stewardship of all resources.
Conference Dates: November 9-11, 2012 Location: Deep Portage Learning Center, Hackensack, MN
We have an exciting conference lineup this year! A fascinating pre-conference field trip, great networking opportunities, exciting concurrent sessions and keynote speakers: John Toren, author of The Seven States of Minnesota, and Winona LaDuke, internationally renowned activist, the MNA conference is a must-see for Minnesota environmental education providers and supporters!
Set in the beautiful north woods of central Minnesota where the pines meet the maples in the heart of lake country, this conference showcases a truly remarkable area of the state. The theme: "The Dirt on Nature, what's happening beneath our feet" brings focus to important topics sometimes overlooked and gives us pause as we take time to explore and discuss what's happening beneath our feet.
Concurrent session topics range from hot topics like sulfide mining and invasive earthworms, to natural history topics such as hibernation and bumble bees; there's something for everyone! See the complete Conference Guide now available online at http://mnnaturalists.org/events/conferences/. This is an excellent opportunity to connect, learn, share and grow. Whether you're new to the field of environmental education or someone with a long tradition, professional naturalist or volunteer, executive director or intern, all are welcome!
Scholarships are available to help cover conference registration costs.
New this year: participate in the first-ever annual MNA Amateur Photography Contest!
