Learn about the nuts and bolts of rain gardens and their purpose. Presented by a landscape designer from a local Conservation District.

2. RAIN GARDEN SITE ASSESSMENT: Drainage and Soils:
Tuesday, April 24, 6:00 -8:00 . preregister by April 17
Join us at a private home (2278 Ariel St., North St. Paul- near the 2010 Extreme Green Makeover site) to learn how to analyze your site, test for soil infiltration and determine your drainage area. Taught by Ryan Johnson from Ramsey Conservation District.
3. RAIN GARDEN DESIGN WORKSHOP: Garden Layout & Plant Design
Tuesday, May 8 6:30 -8:30 pm, preregister by May 1
Pre-requisite: Rain Garden Classroom & Site Assessment Sessions
Overview of design principles and plant choices. Use information gathered in your site assessment to design your own rain garden. Figure out how to resolve drainage issues! Get assistance on your design plan from instructors, & Master Gardeners. Bring a map of your site and the results of your infiltration test. Location at Maplewood Nature Center, 2659 7th ST. E., Maplewood,MN 55119
