| Abstract |
SHOW #103 What is a day in the life of a forester like what do the people who maintain our state forests actually do? The goal of a forester is to provide the best crop of timber possible, while still maintaining the forestsą diversity for future growth and wildlife habitat. Foresters from the Aitkin area DNR office inspect and mark a stand of trees, in this case oak, for selective thinning. Foresters are also using new technology to help manage state land. With satellite and aerial photography, they can quickly survey Minnesota land and share information through the Internet. |
