SEEK is Undergoing a Redesign  The SEEK web site is getting a fresh new look. The site is moving platforms - from cold-fusion to Drupal. It will look and feel a bit different, but it will maintain its breadth and depth of environmental education content and resources. Look for the unveiling later this month!

Undergraduate Students Invited to Participate in the 2015 Student Environmental Challenge - Deadline: October 9  The Student Environmental Challenge is an opportunity for undergraduate college students to: 1. solve a complex environmental problem that is typical of those facing environmental professionals today, 2. Network with over 120 section members and exhibitors, and 3. Earn a cash award ($1500, $100, or $500 for the top teams) for the best delivery of a problem solution.  More info

Don't Miss the 2015 MNA Conference "Everything Under the Stars" - Deadline: October 26  The Minnesota Naturalists' Association (MNA) conference will be held November 12-15 at Long Lake Conservation Center in Palisade, MN. The 2015 theme is Everything Under the Stars. Join us for this annual gathering of naturalists, environmental educators, interpreters, park rangers, volunteers, administrators, advocates, friends, and colleagues as we explore the limitless wonders we see every time we step out the door.  More info

4th Graders and 4th Grade Teachers - Your Free Passes to National Parks Are Now Available  The goal of the Every Kid in a Park Initiative is to provide an opportunity for children across the country to experience America's public lands and waters in person throughout the 2015-2016 school year. Fourth-grade teachers can also download activities and print Free National Park passes for each of your students.  More info

Registration is Open for the 2015 Environmental Education Conference & Research Symposium  The 2015 North American Association for Environmental Education Conference Building a Stronger and More Inclusive Movement will be held October 14-18 in San Diego. This year's conference will explore ways to enrich and expand our work and workforce, along with other strategies for strengthening our field and achieving greater collective impact.  More info

Canadian Journal of Environmental Education Seeking Papers on Emotions and Environmental Education - Deadline: November 1  Fear. Wonder. Compassion. Joy. Hope. We have long known that knowledge alone is insufficient to cultivate flourishing natural and human communities. Emotional dimensions of environmental learning may be key. The Canadian Journal of EE is seeking papers on how emotions influence environmental education.  More info

The Rewilding Revolution: Growing Nature Lovers in the Big City  How can both humans and nature thrive? The solution may be "rewilding" - re-seeding with native plants. Although generally used to refer to big-scale conservation efforts to protect, restore, and connect wilderness areas, rewilding is equally applicable to cities and surrounding natural areas.  More info
