Obama Administration Names 3 Minnesota Schools as First-Ever Green Ribbon Schools  U.S. Department of Education Green Ribbon Schools is a federal recognition program that honors schools that create "green" environments through reducing environmental impact, promoting health, and ensuring a high-quality environmental and outdoor education. Minnesota's winners are: North Shore Community School in Duluth, Garlough Environmental Magnet School in West St. Paul, and Kennedy Community School in Saint Joseph.  More info

Solar Boat Regatta making a splash with renewables: Compete, volunteer, or attend on May 19  At the Minnesota Renewable Energy Society (MRES) Solar Boat Regatta teams demonstrate knowledge of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) to design and build boats powered by the sun. They compete in a number of races, culminating with a one-hour endurance race!  More info

2012-2013 Minnesota GreenCorp Member Applications accepted through May 30th!  The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) is now accepting applications from individuals interested in AmeriCorps service with Minnesota GreenCorps during the 2012-2013 program year. Up to 28 full-time Minnesota GreenCorps members may be placed with local governments and nonprofit organizations statewide to serve on projects in the areas of Energy Conservation, Waste Prevention and Recycling, Living Green, and Green Infrastructure.  More info
