Welcome to the Natural Library: The Essential Role of Libraries in Creating Nature-Rich Communities  On June 12 and 13, the Children & Nature Network launched its Natural Library initiative during a community celebration at the Sun Ray Library and Conway Park in St. Paul. The new Sun Ray Natural Library will serve as one of the emerging models for other libraries and communities across the U.S. Learn more about what parents, conservation groups, librarians and others can do to create nature-smart libraries, drawn from St. Paul and other cities.  More info

Registration is open for the 2015 NAAEE Annual Conference & Research Symposium  The 2015 North American Association for Environmental Education Conference Building a Stronger and More Inclusive Movement will be held October 14-18 in San Diego. This year's conference will explore ways to enrich and expand our work and workforce, along with other strategies for strengthening our field and achieving greater collective impact.  More info

The National Science Teachers Association is Accepting Applications for 2015-2016 New Science Teacher Academy - Deadline: August 15  This professional development initiative was created to help promote quality science teaching, enhance teacher confidence and classroom excellence, and improve teacher content knowledge. The Rewilding Revolution: Growing Nature Lovers in the Big City  How can both humans and nature thrive? The solution may be "rewilding" - re-seeding with native plants. Although generally used to refer to big-scale conservation efforts to protect, restore, and connect wilderness areas, rewilding is equally applicable to cities and surrounding natural areas. Rewilding doesn't require oversight or permission or even much in the way of expertise. Anyone can participate.  More info

Minnesota Naturalists' Association (MNA) Conference Presenters Wanted - Application Deadline: August 7  MNA is seeking presenters for the 2015 MNA Conference at Long Lake Conservation Center in Palisade, MN, from November 13-15. This year's theme is Everything Under the Stars and is inspired by the infinite number of topics that pique naturalists' curiosity and celebrates Long Lake's amazing star-viewing skies.  More info

Annual Teachers Conference Changes Name Officially Back to 'MEA'  Education Minnesota is reclaiming Minnesotans' long-held affection for the phrase and renaming its annual professional development conference the Minnesota Educator Academy, or MEA. The 2015 conference will be held October 15-16 at the Saint Paul RiverCentre. If your organization offers resources for Minnesota educators, then consider exhibiting at MEA.  More info
