Nominate an Outstanding K-12 Teacher for National Environmental Educator Award - Deadline: March 13  The EPA and the White House Council on Environmental Quality announce the 2014-2015 Presidential Innovation Award for Environmental Educators. Nominations are being accepted for K-12 teachers who employ innovative approaches to environmental education. This award honors, supports and encourages educators who incorporate environmental education in their classrooms and teaching methods.  More info

Get Ready for National Environmental Education Week, Greening STEM: Surrounded by Science  National Environmental Education Week (EE Week) will be celebrated from April 19-25, 2015. EE Week is the nation's largest celebration of environmental education. EE Week continues its multi-year focus on connecting the environment with STEM (science, technology, engineering & math) learning. EE Week is excited to explore the many connections between science and the environment to help educators find the most effective and engaging ways to bridge the two in their teaching.  More info

NAAEE Accredits Four Distinguished College and University Environmental Education Programs - Next Deadline: March 15  The North American Association for Environmental Education (NAAEE) is pleased to announce a new initiative designed to formally recognize distinguished college and university environmental education programs that are developing the kinds of environmental educators we need in the field. Four programs - Montreat College, Eastern Kentucky University, Nova Southeastern University, and University of Wisconsin at Stevens Point - are the first institutions to receive recognition.  More info

Environmental Education Proposals Sought to Benefit Minnesota's Environment and Natural Resources - Deadline: May 11th  The Legislative-Citizen Commission on Minnesota Resources (LCCMR) issued its 2016 RFP for funding from Minnesota's Environment and Natural Resources Trust Fund. Approximately $46.3 million is available for projects in the following areas: 1. Foundational Natural Resource Data and Information 2. Water Resources 3. Environmental Education 4. Aquatic and Terrestrial Invasive Species 5. Air Quality, Climate Change, and Renewable Energy 6. Methods to Protect or Restore Land, Water, and Habitat 7. Land Acquisition for Habitat and Recreation.  More info

Nominate an Exemplary Environmental Educator for the 2015 MAEE Awards  The Minnesota Association for Environmental Education (MAEE) awards program exists to recognize and encourage excellence in the field of environmental education. Awards are given in the following categories: 1. Lifetime Achievement in Environmental Education, 2. Formal Environmental Educator of the Year, and 3. Non-formal Environmental Educator of the Year. The nomination deadline is April 10, 2015.  More info
